One of the great things about Skyfall (and there are many) is the phenomenal cinematography by Roger Deakins. Obviously Deakins always turns in fantastic work, but his collaboration with director Sam Mendes on the James Bond pic was jaw-droppingly gorgeous—which makes the news that Deakins won’t be returning for Bond 24 that much more disappointing. After some wavering, Mendes and Skyfall screenwriter John Logan agreed to direct and write the next Bond film, respectively, but In Contention’s Kris Tapley took to Twitter today to break the sad news that Deakins will not be back as cinematographer. On the set of the Entertainment Weekly cover shoot for the Veronica Mars movie, the cast seemed to really enjoy one of the many reunions they’ll have thanks to their Kickstarter-funded film. Ryan Hansen (Dick) joked about making out with fans who came to the set. Chris Lowell (Piz) explained why he always knew a Mars movie would happen. And creator Rob Thomas blurted out one hell of a spoiler.

Warner Bros. announced Tuesday that The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be released on DVD and Blu-ray April 8, and EW has a motion poster that goes along with the epic adventure’s arrival in stores. Check it out below:

There’s still a long time to wait before James Cameron’s three Avatar sequels hit theaters. The current timeline set is for the films to shoot back-to-back-to-back beginning this fall and for each of the sequels to premiere in December of 2016, 2017 and 2018.

So Frozen, it's been hyped a lot in the last few months around the internet.  And as always for someone who continues to blog about fandom and fannish life I'm the last one on earth to hear about this movie. Opinions have been hard and fast and staunchly divided in fandom itself.  The movie, Frozen is the latest animated movie to come out  of Walt Disney Animation Studios.
